What is right?What is wrong?
who is right ? Who is wrong?
who gets to decide it? and according to whom?
Our morals keep changing by changing norms and shifting cultural evolution. what was legal and considered morally wrong a century ago in parts of the world can be perfectly acceptable and legal today and in fact be morally wrong if you stand against it today. A perfect example of this would be homosexuality and it’s moral and legal evolution in the past century.
Now if you take out the moral and legal obligations and consider ethics & morals from a pure scientific perspective ( by booting out religion too) . does right or wrong exist? NO. But we observe that concept of right or wrong has led to many positive outcomes with construction of morals and evolution of religions and bringing development of humans to the present stage . But at the same time has been responsible for many disasters and bloodshed.
So. So…… the concept is still flawed.
Why?
it satisfies human ego during discussions by putting opposite person down and this constant verbal battle between who is right and who is wrong.
what is right for one party maybe wrong for another party & vice versa with valid arguments from both sides.
It is highly subjective as there is no objective right/wrong unless it’s a scientific fact.
It doesn’t lead to the best favorable outcome for both parties.
Being judgemental of others.By constantly seeing the bad in others, we train our minds to find the bad.
Solution : Best Possible Outcome.
Instead of looking for right/wrong , look at what is the best way to achieve your outcome / solution to the situation and striving for it instead of is it right or wrong.
wait… wait.. this can be a disaster sometimes. If Hitler considered what’s the best possible outcome for him to achieve his goal ? which he did. that was a disaster.
So striving for best possible outcome is a great solution when an individual is involved and there are no other parties involved. ex : solving your health , striving for your education goals.
But when more than one party is involved the answer is still the same but with a little twist and it is :
What is the best possible outcome for both the parties and all the parties involved. Even in this situation you don’t need to bring who & what is right/wrong.
By using this we can make both the parties / all the parties involved reach a positive outcome.
As for the actual Right | Wrong aspect of things, i would like to end this article with a quote by Nietzsche :
